It is important that our clients understand who we are, how we work, and why teaming up with PedGrow will prove to be a most satisfying experience with exceptional results.
We LOVE what we do. Simply stated but true. PedGrow Landshaping was developed from the need of creative expression. Two very unique people bored of working for other landscaping companies whom focused on quantity more than quality decided that there was a better way. We knew people were tired of the typical “builder budget landscapes” and were in need of originality and interest.
We have FUN. Because we create one of a kind results we are able to try out new products and continually look for alternative solutions to common problems. Each landscape project has a unique challenge and solving individual challenges is what keeps us looking forward to every new job.
We PAY ATTENTION to details. Loving our work and enjoying challenges keeps our eyes open to every little detail. If it means flipping a stone to perfect the look of a masonry job or turning a shrub ¼ turn so that the best branching habit shows, it’s the attention to details that make our landscape projects shine.
As a rule, when you love what you do and look forward to work, it’s obvious to anyone who sees the results.
How We Work
Using a collaboration of the design process and past years experience we have arrived at a specific program for our clientele. The following outlines the process through which PedGrow accompanies each client to ensure that we arrive at the very best suited solution for each landscape challenge. Our process consists of four phases, every phase crucial in producing the optimum results; Consultation, Design, Installation, and Maintenance.
Consultation
We begin this phase of the process at our initial meting with you as our client at your home or project site. There, we will walk the property, discuss existing problems and concerns, and then we will discuss your visions and uses for the space. The more information about your personal tastes you can provide for us at this meeting the closer we can arrive at a solution ensuring a truly individual design. Other factors that influence the design and success of the design are budget and flexibility in phasing out the projects to accommodate budget restraints.
Our initial consultation usually lasts about 1 hour and is free. We believe this hour provides enough time to thoroughly discuss your project and to learn about each other to realize whether or not we would make a great team. Any consultation time after the initial free hour will be charged at a rate of $75.00 per hour. At the end of the consultation, we will provide an estimate for the cost of a professional landscape plan. Upon signed agreement of this estimate, we move to the 2nd phase of our process.
Design
The second phase of our program consists of the development of a landscape design. We measure the site with all existing elements to draw a scaled drawing to work with. We then analyze the area as well as surrounding areas that might influence our project site so that all factors will be taken into consideration when preparing the plans. Our attention to detail at this point saves time and eliminates frustration from occurring later.
We produce a scaled drawing designing all aspects of the area including new or redesigned driveways, walks, patios, decks, pools and spas, water features, retaining walls, and plantings. All grading and drainage issues will be addressed will be addressed. Irrigation and outdoor lighting are additional designs that we can provide that are highly recommended to add to the success of the landscape design.
The professional landscape plans PedGrow Landshaping provides will be specific and will be used to convey ideas and to show proposed changes. Eventually these plans will be used in the field by our foreman to spray bedlines, layout hardscape edges, and to plant plants during the installation process.
This phase is crucial to the project and provides you, as the client, the opportunity to make slight changes to the plan to perfect the individualization of the design and provides a long term goal.
We present the final plan along with estimates for the implementation of the design. Upon signed agreement of these estimates and collection of a 50% deposit, we can move to the 3rd phase of our process.
Installation
Although the end of the design phase can be exciting the third phase of this process is the most exhilarating. Once the agreement has been made we will schedule a time to begin your landscape project and materials will be ordered, delivered, bedlines will be sprayed, and activity will begin.
You will be pleasantly surprised by our cleanliness and respect for existing areas that should not be disturbed. Many of our clients tell us how they expected the whole yard to be torn up and a complete mess until the end of the job. Our workers know how important it is to leave the lob site as clean as possible everyday; we do not agree with the mentality of “this is a job site, we’ll up at the end”.
We stay on track. Once we begin your project we will be on site (weather permitting) until your project is completed- working continuously with a purpose: to exceed your expectations.
If at anytime you have a question or would like to make minor changes, we are flexible and will adjust to your preferences as long as no additional material is needed and no additional labor costs accrue. If you would like to make on site changes that may add charges, a change order requesting each task and showing additional costs will be written for you to sign prior to any work being completed.
Upon completion and total satisfaction the site will be left clean, all disturbed areas will be repaired and covered, and the remaining balance is due.
Your satisfaction is guaranteed and we will exceed your expectations!
Maintenance
The fourth phase of our process is very important in determining the life span and success of your landscape design.
An award winning design and installation can lose its magic without the proper management of the elements used. Although we design for minimal maintenance, a “maintenance free” landscape does not exist.
What makes landscaping so much fun is that fact that it is fluid and not static. Things will always be changing. We plan for changes such as the growth of plan material and the changing of the seasons but there are elements that we cannot always design for. Things like tree growth changing areas of full sun to full shade takes time but causes us to shift our design, neighboring development or re-grading changes the water flow on our properties… There are many situations that occur causing us to re-think or re-design areas and a professional maintenance company will pay close attention to the details that might cause your carefully thought out plan to decline. Your property will be monitored, changes will be minimized and managed correctly to maximize the longevity of your landscape design which we worked so hard to perfect.
